Getting most out of ReBarcamp #REBCCLT

REBarcamp Charlotte
Heres the list of things you can do to get most of out of the REBarcamp charlotte –

1) Know Thy Expectation- It’s obvious, right? You still need to write it down. What are the primary topic you are planning to learn about. I do not see any list of speakers on the website but my guess is most of these topics will be discussed – Online Marketing, SEO, Mobile, Video, Social Media etc.

2) Networking – If you are planning to network with other attendees, make sure to plan to connect with them between the sessions. If you do plan to connect with some specific people, make sure to ping them via twitter / facebook etc to set the expectation and express your intention. It also give you a head start and you dont have to start with a cold introduction as most likely other person will check out your profile and will already have a little bit of an idea about you. Check out the list of attendees here – http://rebarcamp.com/charlotte/all-star-list/

3) Register Early – RE BarCamps fill up quickly, and with the energy, creativity and knowledge you’ll get out of RE BarCamp, you want to make sure you’ll be able to get in! – Register here – http://rebarcamp.com/charlotte/rsvp/

4) What can you share? – If there is anything you can share then please make a note of those too. Any new tools, internet service, marketing technique or even any failure / bad experience that you think can help others will be good to share. Do not worry about your competition learning from you because you establish yourself as expert and gain other’s respect by providing some valuable information. Be open to learning what others have to share and share what others want to learn!

5) Make sure you have the following:

- Laptop: you can blog, take notes, or connect with the apps that will be useful for your business.
- Business Cards: you may have traditional business cards, an SMS business card, or the Bump App – take your pick, just make sure you can enable others to connect with you after the event.
- Power strip / chargers: you can more easily get access to an outlet if you can provide others with outlets.

6) Show up early – Show up early and introduce yourself to the speaker, have your questions in mind for the follow-on Q&A time, and be sure to introduce yourself to other participants as they come in the door. It’s a great way to get a feel for the type of people attending and their level of expertise

Let us know if you can share some more tips that we may have missed.

See you all there on this Thursday (3/8 for pre-party) and Friday (3/9/2012)
